What You See Is What You Get!

Our Chameleon Tracking system will allow you to learn as much information about a chameleon, prior to purchasing.  We try to take the guess work out of buying a new chameleon.  We also try to minimize the amount of emailing back and forth, by providing everything you need on our website.  But don't hesitate to contact us, as we are more than happy to answer your questions.   Our “What you see is what you get” approach is both convenient and fun!

Heres how it works!

Photos

We will include a photo of the actual chameleon for sale.  We will continue to keep their photos updated to reflect their age and coloration.

Parent Records

Whenever possible, we will include the chameleon's family records.  On the available page for each chameleon, you'll find several  symbols located next to fields such as Sire, Dam, and Sibling.  By clicking on the magnifying glasses, you'll be linked to that relative's record page.

Feeding Log

Prior to making our animals available, we will start a feeding log on each individual animal. The feeding log will display the following items:

  • The first entry, which includes the date, feeding item that was offered, and the quantity in which it was offered.
  • The date a new feeding item was offered, the new feeding item, and the quantity in which it was offered.  For example, we will log the day we switch from pinhead crickets to a larger size.
  • The date that the chameleon has refused his meal. A  ! will appear signifying this.

For the dates that have no feeding log entries, you can assume that all is well, and the chameleon has eaten for that day.

This will give you the opportunity to see what his/her diet consist of, and help you prepare for your chameleon's first day at home.

Health Log

The Health Log will display all the information pertinent to the chameleons health.  Primarily, this log is used to record the weight of the chameleon periodically.  We will also log the shed dates.

Breeding Log

Occasionally, we will offer an adult for sale.  If the animal has bred, you'll find a breeding log with his/her record.  Some of the things you might find on this log are:

  • Pairing Dates - We record the dates that we pair up a chameleon with a mate, in hopes that the female will be receptive to the male.
  • Copulation Dates - The dates that actual copulation occurs.
  • Clutch information - The number of eggs laid, and when they were laid.
  • Problems - If there are any complications associated with the breeding process, you'll find them here.

This log is primarily used by us to keep track of our breeding efforts.

Another neat thing about the breeding logs is that they are available to the public. Even if the animal is not for sale!  If you are interested in the offspring of a particular Sire, you'll be able to track his breeding progress.  The breeding log will also notify you when his clutch hatches.
